[shadow=red,left,300]: Race Basics :[/shadow]
Race is a important thing. We should pay close attention to it. Race means many things, and you should take careful consideration when you choose. This will decide your base stats. Choose well, cause you only get one choice. Its particularly important.
Anyway. The posts below will show you the different races. And as such will give you some much needed information about each one. I will also give you a run-down about each statistic.
Strength: This attribute has one effect. It effects how hard your character hits. The higher it is, the more damage you can do with a normal hit. Strength is most important to physical classes, although Magicked blades by-pass this and replace it with magick.
Magick: This attribute effects the power of Magicks cast. Of course, that would denote that means it has greatest use to a mage. Magicks casted by a holder of high magick are much more effective.
Defense: This denotes how much damage is reduced during combat. This is helped a lot by Armour, but defense only reduces damage, nothing more.
Vitality: This has a two prong effect. For one Vitality effects your health, the higher it is, the more damage you can sustain, and the Higher your Hp is. It also effects how quick you can overcome status effects.
Mind: This stat reflects the ability to resist Magicks. Those with a high Mind stat can shrug off spells with relative ease. This means less damage is done by all magicks.
Speed: This attribute reflects the characters ability to run and move. Speed increases how fast you attack, cast a spell, or even how quick you move throughout the world.
Dexterity: Dexterity is a several pronged stat. Dexterity effects how well you handle your weapon in battle, letting you critical more often. It also lets your dodge attacks far quicker, and with more ease. Dexterity is essentially your dodge ability.
Accuracy: Accuracy is as it says. It effects your ability to hit with anything. Although this stat has much more use for a ranged weapon user. This effects also how good you can critical foes at ranged.
Luck: This stat affects everything yet nothing too. Luck effects that there is a chance to do something very very well, or very very bad. High luck makes criticals more often, whilst low makes them less often. Luck can only be increased via. accessories, thus all races start with average luck. Except the Seeq that seem to be born with slightly above average luck

HumeThe Humes are the biggest and most expansive of all the races in Ivalice. They come in many forms, tall and short, but all are very similar to "Our" worlds Humans. They can be blond, or Brown, and anything in between. They can be old, dark skinned, or young and pale skinned. Although they seem to vary in appearance based on region. The Humes of Ivalice are very much in control in Ivalice. They have a strong support in government and most are very much regarded as higher then the other races. The Humes have no good traits, nor bad. They are balanced in every way. Humes can become anything, and excel in all fields well. Humes are the most abundant, and there diversity of skills makes them very much enjoyable. Humes have the second shortest life-span of all the races of Ivalice, and are know to have to wear armor and such because there skin itself is not very strong against attacks. The humans are able to do many things. There stats grow depending on there classes, meaning some Stats become very high, whilst others will remain average. Base stats: Strength: Average Defense: Average Magick: Average Vitality: Average Mind: Average Speed: Average Dexterity: Average Accuracy: Average Luck: Average

VieraMeet the Bunny-eared Viera. This race is tall, and has supple limps, and pointed feet. This means that Stiletto Heels are best for them. Viera are split into two variations. They are the Veena Viera, who are lighter in skin-tone. And then we have the Darker-skinned Rava Viera. These are just appearances and have no effect on the actual Viera's abilities. The viera have long ears, and very hightened senses. Most Viera have white hair, although those that leave the wood often dye there beautiful locks to fit into the world better. They are mainly Females, though no one has ever seen a male. It is assumed that they exist, but are not as in abundance as woman, nor in the mindset to leave the wood.
Viera's can hear far away with their ears, and can also hear to voice of the wood with them. They have a extremely high sense of smell, and are even more sensitive to mist. They can go into Mist frenzies and attack anything in sight during massive amounts of mist. Viera live in the Golmore Jungle and are elusive beyond compare. They rarely leave their home, in the woods. They can talk to the wood, or so they say. Those few few Viera that leave the wood soon begin to lose there connection to the wood, and with time assimilate into the Hume world.
Viera are known for there High speed, and above average accuracy and magicks. They are frailer then most races, but still can become good fighters if they practice hard. Magicks often enchant there weapons and magics, and they are known to be able to tame and call the beast of the wood to there side. Viera are masters of the bow and range!

BangaaMeet the Bangaa. They are a race of Lizard-like Humanoids who are known for the strength. Bangaa come in four versions: The Bangaa Ruga who have yellow-brown skin with shorter ears. Then we connect to the athletic Bangaa Fass who have bronze like skin-coloring. Besides them we also have the Bangaa Bista and the Bangaa Sanga, with the bronze skin and ash-gray respectively. Though there are a few mixed breeds as well. They have excellent hearing! Although most have very poor eyesight, their hearing makes up for it. Bangaa are physically excellent in every way, they are masters of strength, and most Humes regard them for there pure raw strength. They live twice as long as any other race. They also are hard to tell from female or male, extremal hard, and only mate very late in life. They reproduce rarely.... Bangaa assimilate well into the world of the Humes. Perhaps more than any other race. They speak with a guttural sound much like the real world Scottish accent, and most have troubles with the human language. Although most humans do not like the Bangaa because they are not human, and regard them with the very racial word "lizard" when they are away from the bangaa's sensitive hearing. Bangaa are said to be of different personality depending on their skin, with the Sanga and the Bista variants being very laid back, and the faas being warriors at heart, and the Ruga being gentle ones. Bangaa are the strongest of all the races in Ivalice. They have high defense, and have high vitality. Unfortunately there magick skills are lacking, and they are very weak to magick as well. They are average in speed and in dexterity. They are below average in accuracy and are not the best at range. They although get average luck. Strength: High Defense: above average Magick: low Vitality: high Mind: low Speed: Average Dexterity: Average Accuracy: below average Luck: Average

SeeqThe seeq are a race of pig-like humanoids. The Seeq are of larger build, and have round bellies. Seeq are very difficult to tell the sex apart from, although Clothing is worn on both the upper and lower half's for female Seeqs. Seeq come in a few colors, mainly blue, green, and mauve. They dress in little clothing as possible, and have a very very difficult time with Hume speech.
Seeq are regarded as "less then a Hume", by the hume. This makes it hard for them to fit in with the Hume world. They are often set to do physical jobs for less pay then most, and work very hard. Seeq are often regarded as so little that they are reduced to crime in order to get by. The Seeq although are known to be very kind people, and love to work hard. Most Seeq have a lower intelligence then the other races, so they are content with life.
Seeq have very very strong frames Strong enough that there vitality is even higher then that of a Bangaa. They are strong too, despite there appearance as fatty. The Seeq have size, and whilst they have mobility and magick problems, they are strong enough to rake a foe hard. All Seeq have a natural Resistance to damage that is very high. They make excellent tanks. They also are slightly more lucky then the other races. This may have something to do with there natural like for shiny things.
Base stats: Strength: High Defense: High Magick: Low Vitality: Massively High Mind: low Speed: below average Dexterity: low Accuracy: Average Luck: Above Average

MoogleThe moogles are a race of small, dexterous pom-pom topped fluff balls. The Moogles are the smallest of all races, but they are very easy to work with. They have integrated well with the Hume world, albeit it with some difficulties. The reason why the integrated so well is simple: Technology. The moogles are able to work well with machines(IE Airships). That said there small hands can work with the most delicate of things, and still configure them just right. Not to mention they have a knack for math, and are very intelligent. Moogles are fluffy, and have fur all over there bodies. They have cute faces, and a pom-pom(this pom-pom is said to be of a different color with every Moogle) hangs from the top of there head. They were clothes like a Hume, and all of them have small wings. Most Moogles can not fly(there wings are vestigial in nature), but some, after much practice have learned to fly with there wings. There are many famous moogles, an they are very happy with there lives. Moogles are different in battle then most others. Moogles have a a great knack for Dexterity, that said they are excellent at ranged classes. But because of there affinity for magick, and not for strength, guns tend to be there favorite weapon. Moogles are able to create things, since most have the talent for such a based job, Alchemist are common for the moogle. The moogle unfortunately has low health, strength and defense. They are not designed for front lines, but they are quite capable of being very versatile. Base stats: Strength: low Defense: low Magick: above average Vitality: low Mind: above average Speed: average Dexterity: High Accuracy: Above Average Luck: Average

Nu MouA race of dog-like people. The Nu Mou appear similar to dogs, with a squatted body, and a elongated face. Not much is known about the Nu Mou(for most are very reserved in nature). That said, these people are very hard to understand. They integrated well with Hume society, but maybe that is simply because they are not trying. The Nu Mou have a life span three times longer than that of a Hume, and many of them are striver's for knowledge. Preferring it over other necessities. The Nu Mou are extremely gifted in magic. So much so that all there other things are unfortunately very low. But there power to cast magicks that none have seen more then makes up for it. Nu Mou are regarded as master of magicks in many places. Some Nu Mou are regarded for there high-charisma with animals, enabling the Nu Mou to bond, and command the beast as if it were a pet. Base stats: Strength: low Defense: low Magick: Extremely high Vitality: low Mind: Extreamly high Speed: low Dexterity: low Accuracy: above Average Luck: Average

AegylA race of winged humanoids. The Aegyl appear very hume in appearance except that a large pair of feathered wings grow from there back. The wings take many colors, and are very capable of flight. So much so that Aegyl can literaly fly across the skies of the world. Not much is known about the race because of there rather recent discovery. It is known that Aegyl have very short live spans because of their wings living only 40 years then dieing. For the longest time they lived on Lemurés, cut off from the world. The Aegyl once were led by Feolthanos whom refused to worship the occuria. That said, the Occuria put the new land they lived inside of a barrier, locking the poor Aegyl inside. Eventually with the destruction of the Sun-Cryst, the barrier went down. And after a adventure or two, the Aegyl were freed from there curse. You see the Aegyl had to give there anima to Feolthanos in order to some the Yarhi. When Vaan and Co. Defeated Feolthanos the anima began to return to there original owners, and the Aegyl gained emotions again. The Aegyl although lost there home after the battle and most fled to a new home, Bhjurba, although some(relatively few) fled to the underworld(Ivalice). There Aegyl adopted jobs much like Humes and integrated perfectly int other Hume world. Aegyl are similar to Humes in almost every way, except they are frailer, and have a slightly high dexterity(they can also fly). Base stats: Strength: average Defense: average Magick: average Vitality: low Mind: average Speed: average Dexterity: High Accuracy: Average Luck: Average
